Unilever Ice Cream in Europe is a 2.3 billion € business. Our mission is to increase the number of smiles in Europe through great ice cream experiences and increasing per capita consumption. The category is very dynamic with multiple channels (Out of Home & In Home) and is facing increased competition from artisanal ice cream, R&R, Nestle and DOBs. 

Our scooping business in EU is 162M, 60% of which is Carte D’Or (CDO). The scooping business for CDO can be split into 50% Front of House (gelaterias and scoop shops) and 50% Back of House (restaurants, cafes, bars, etc). 

This role presents you an exciting opportunity for the foreseeable future in building Unilever’s presence in the scooping channel and gives you the unique opportunity to grow your business management, marketing and operations management skills. In addition to leading exciting innovations and renovation projects you will be designing the physical expression of the Carte D’Or brand in OOH channels, supporting the country teams in assets, tool-kits and portfolio management. You will be collaborating with In-Home CDO desserts team, OOH Channel Teams, GRO team, UFS Desserts Team, EU cross functional teams. Important to note that in Ice-cream Europe we have an agile team to drive growth with speed. Thus, for the foreseeable future your key responsibilities would include: 

Your key responsibilities would be in marketing operations, which include: 

1. Lead Scooping EU portfolio management processes such as: 

  • a. Destination Portfolio: Support countries in optimizing their portfolio, rolling out products that already exist in other markets or delisting SKUs that perform below thresholds. 
  • b. Artwork Season: Manage the update of the Artworks to reflect the changes agreed during Destination Portfolio. This includes creating new codes in Prisma, coordinating tasks with the cross functional team and managing AW approvals through BLUE. 

2. Lead initiatives to reduce portfolio complexity, proactively suggesting solutions that can optimize each market's portfolio while keeping EU complexity under control. 

3. Conducting scooping community calls to cascade destination portfolio & artwork season best practices and learnings. 

4. Candidates familiar with the following will be preferred: 

  • a. Excel & Powerpoint 
  • b. Project Management
  • c. Budget Management 
  • d. Artwork Management: Blue Aw system, Create and AW brief and and AW Timeline 

 

Skills required to excel and thrive in this role:

  • A collaborator - builds and leads networks with ease 
  • A team player – who can step into market’s shoes and understand their point of view. 
  • Resilience – is able to turnaround projects with complexity in given timeframes. 
  • Analytical skills to rationalize the portfolio based on GM, TO & MoQs thresholds for each market.
