1. BACKGROUND

In the Make Finance organisation, the country Make Expertise Team (MET) will drive excellence and key expertise in activities needed to ensure financial control and support decision-making in the factories. This is a centralised team, working for all the sites in the country that is primarily responsible for controls, month end accounting & reporting activities, support for business plan and decision support. They are strongly leveraging central resources (reports, SCFS, OC, IBM) and are interacting directly with Industrial Finance controllers, site operations and budget holders. They create synergies through efficient and aligned ways of managing the tasks through the different sites and are continuously improving processes in collaboration with the shared teams and Make capability finance. The MET is based in one of the country / cluster factories and reports to the local Industrial finance manager.

 

2. WORK SUMMARY / RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Fixed Assets:
    1. Responsible to deliver capex review & support Industrial Finance Controller in that area: provides aligned tools and process support for actuals and forecast. 
    2. Responsible for assets creation and capitalisation: coordinates Capex proposals completed by engineers/Industrial finance, creates projects for approval in Marlin, creates WIP/assets in SAP and requests capitalisation when project is finalised, challenges overdue capitalization
    3. Organises asset controls: ensures rules on assets counts and tagging are respected, manages transactional work on asset registers, including tagging. Organises verifications by tests once a year. Coordinates assets counts, if needed with local support from Industrial Finance. Reviews AWO risk. Submits SOX documentation
  • General Accounting:
  1. Prepares non-recurring journals and Blackline postings. Direct contact with key stakeholders to prepare postings, e.g. HR/payroll, site utilities teams
  2. Manages sundry sales for the sites: preparation/communication with key contacts for ad hoc and toll fee postings
  3. Centralise local Tax / Statutory / Living the model requirements and contact with relevant local expertise, OC and relevant 3rd party teams
  4. Leads reviews on Balance sheet for the factories with OC, with a defined periodicity and clear responsibility, asks for corrections. Supports review on debtors 
  5. Makes sure that all above business cases are documented and archived for audit purposes according to the guidelines
  • Inventory control, financial reporting & analysis:
    1. Creation of local standard finance information not provided by central reports
    2. Organises optimal inventory accounting process through guidance and training: ensure continuous improvement, proper stock count process, consumption controls and variances done and explained, support problems solving
    3. Support Waste / Consumption variances / SU obsoletes / Quality defects process: ensure reporting visibility provided through SCFS, identify big issues and contact directly site operations on gap closing
    4. Supports in Annual planning process or WCM Cost deployment with adapted historical data 
    5. Support with ad-hoc analysis and benchmarks when needed for business decisions.

  • Skills Overview: statutory and UL assets accounting expertise, risk and compliance, collaboration with multiple stakeholders, analytics, control & reporting
  • Standards of Leadership: bias for action, accountability and responsibility, growth mind-set
  • Professional qualifications and experience: Accounting/Management accounting degree, fluent in English & Dutch.
