MATERIAL PLANNER

DEPARTMENT

The planning department of the Ben & Jerry's ice cream factory in Hellendoorn consists of 5 people and is a crucial part of the Supply Chain. Together they are responsible for, among other things, the timely delivery of the right number of products to our customers (the Unilever Marketing Sales Organizations). In collaboration with an external party for placing orders, the department is responsible for optimal planning and timely arrival of raw materials and packaging and the ready stock of finished products, raw materials, and packaging.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Material Planner you will be mainly responsible for the timely and sufficient delivery of raw materials and packaging to our factory. In this process you will maintain contact with Capgemini, the Unilever transport organization, suppliers, and internal customers. In addition, you will replace your colleagues during their vacation.

Your main activities will be:

• Realizing an optimal delivery plan, in which the raw materials and packaging are delivered as efficiently as possible;

• Checking orders placed by our 3rd party Capgemini;

• Maintaining proper stocks in our storage locations where the materials are delivered;

• Maintaining good contacts with the various external parties and internal customers;

• Entering orders and deliveries in the relevant systems;

• Proactively inform internal customers about (deviating) deliveries and delivery times;

• Performing and assessing daily and weekly checks on arriving deliveries;

• Entering and maintaining master data for new end products, raw materials and packaging;

• Continuously playing an active role in identifying poorly running processes and making and implementing proposals for improvement;

• Replacing and supporting colleagues in their absence.
