Procurement Specialist – Farmed Ingredients (Spices & Vegetables)
Main Job Purpose:Supporting the Global Procurement team on vegetables and spices portfolio, support the market teams for discussions with suppliers on service and quality. Responsible for the delivery of cost and cash targets, supplier relationships and strategy implementation while ensuring process simplification and 100% compliance to Unilever policies.Key Accountabilities:
Material Strategy: Supporting the development of sourcing strategy for Spices and Vegetables for Unilever’s global businesses
Cost and Cash: Supporting Delivery of Cost Savings, Cost Avoidance and strategic Cash/Working Capital initiatives
Capacity & Capability: Regularly review supplier capacities and capabilities; develop new, long term sustainable sources of supply. Scan market to establish new suppliers to support resilience strategy.
Business Partnering: Support the business for Innovations, working with category procurement to ensure flawless launch of new products, support the achievement of saving projects, working together with MET to establish new suppliers, accurate price forecasting; manage local supply chain issues (e.g. crisis management); assess supplier, supply risk and build contingency plans
Supplier relationship: Support manager and team in developing good relationship with suppliers through a regular interaction framework, visiting suppliers to scan capability, understand market reality on ground and bring back the learnings to the strategy
Operational Excellence: 100% adherence to compliance requirements; OTIF contract implementation
Strategic projects: Develop and lead the execution of strategic projects for the portfolio
Responsibilities:
Buying: tender preparation, managing process and final contract bookings with suppliers as per agreed strategies and business guidance.
Supplier and Supply Market Analysis: assess, identify and select appropriate supplier base; provides input on supplier risk, capability and quality; investigate all new material and supply developments and make recommendations
Market Analysis and Price Benchmarking: supports market price analysis; conducts price benchmarking and implements tactical buying strategies; understand and interpret cost breakdowns of suppliers and the E2E supply chain to deliver value
Cost and Cash: Lead implementation of cost savings programs like ASA and AMA and cash generation ideas through project management approach; analysis and reporting of targets; updating projects into SRS. Also be part of teams leading championships related to ASAMA/CLM/Digital
Simplification: Lead contract management compliance; ensure material specification sign-off with suppliers; Streamline forecasting process; clean and update spend information
Compliance: ensure that all business partners are completely SQA and RSP compliant and are registered in the USQS before any commercial transaction is initiated
Operations: responsible for day-to-day operational management of portfolio for Europe cluster; first point of contact for the market procurement team for discussions/negotiations with suppliers
Support: Assist procurement manager in all aspects of her/ his role:

Driving Sustainability through Procurement: Materials and/or services Supply Chain analysis and risk assessment; Evidence-based measurement for sustainability
Experience Required
ESSENTIAL
University degree
Experience in Procurement or Supply Management
Genuinely committed to Unilever’s sustainably lead business model and the D&I framework, connected with Unilever and the business agenda
PREFERRED
Experience of local environment and some exposure to food ingredients market
Experience on large-scale change management projects
