Main Job Purpose:
Global Procurement of Ocean and Air Freight, meeting the specified needs of the Business at most competitive commercial terms. Work closely together with the Procurement manager to develop and drive Business Strategies based on needs of the business. Collaborate with Exporting/Importing countries and other regional stakeholders. Manage Supplier Relationships & continuously building capability in the areas of Ocean and Air Logistics by supplier engagement, collaborative planning and supplier performance management and market insights.

Key Accountabilities:
• Execute Procurement of Ocean and Air Freight Portfolios: Decides what to buy, where to buy, how to buy, when to buy.
• Manage Total spend of €140 million, up to 40 suppliers, 3,000 sea freight lanes, 200,000 TEU, 5k Tons airfreight and manage 1 direct report and India based Cap Gemini operational support team of 3.
• Work closely with the Logistics/Export and Import teams to support Operational efficiencies.
• Provide consultative advice to Internal business network as a subject matter expertise on Ocean/Air Freight
• Manage supply chain issues (e.g. crisis management).
• Participate and Facilitate in the global and regional sourcing studies by providing expertise advice in the area of freight
• Supplier Relationship Management
• Delivery of the VIP programmes and Key initiatives.
• Deliver Cash targets.
• Identify metrics, tools and process to optimize sourcing, supplier activities and efficiencies.
• Work closely with suppliers to drive key initiatives such as Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability.
• Initiate and drive complexity reduction projects (e.g. harmonisation of specifications and suppliers)
• Measure and manage overall performance of suppliers.
• To assess, identify and select the appropriate supplier base that would meet the needs of the business
• To continuously improve ways of working and optimise procurement activities.
• To ensure the satisfaction of Unilever's internal customers with the services provided by the Global freight procurement team.
• To develop, coach and mentor resources within a high performing and motivated team responsible for interfacing with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
• To lead cross-functional initiatives and represent Unilever's interests in the management of external strategic relationships.
• In the context of Partner to Win, to identify, develop and manage strategic business relationships to enable implementation of the Unilever growth strategy, revenue achievement and new development initiatives.

• Experience in procurement function, running procurement processes/contracts, and relationship management.

Experience Required:

ESSENTIAlL

  • University degree.
  • At least 5 to 8 years experience in Ocean Freight, Procurement/Supply Management or Operations
  • Experience in International Ocean Freight is highly preferred.

 

PREFERRED 

  • Previous experience of and involvement with RFQ and Tendering processes.
